Selfie's and Self Portrait

In this assignment, I learned what a self-portrait is and how to accomplish one. A self-portrait is of yourself but does not focus primarily on your face like a selfie does. Additionally, I took the first selfies I had in a long time. Making selfies is not something I do often and excluding this assignment I probably took less than 10 selfies in the last five years. This experience, while normal to must people felt odd to me and taught me more about why people love taking selfies and could take 25000 selfies in their life.

In this assignment I learned that it is best to take photos in bursts to be able to find the best position. It is  also very important to use the background to write a story with the dancers. It works very well when things match. For instance everyone doing their own pose on a background without symmetry and matching colors. Another option is to use multiple people in one photo. This way you can make symmetry between the dancers. Besides symmetry, opposition is very important in order to make a story.

A Bar in the Livingston, New Jersey

This project represents the painting called A Bar at the Folies-Bergére. I copied the painting into a picture with the help of my family. My photo shows the oranger, flower, table, wine and clothing that was in the painting. Additionally the people in the painting are shown. This photo was blurred to look like the original painting, but still looks like a photo. This recreation of a painting was a fun and interesting idea thatI had.
